White Privilege: Let's Talk, A Resource for Transformational Dialogue

A curriculum developed as part of an ongoing conversation that is a concerted effort to enable allies to see with new eyes how privilege works. It aims to illuminate how white people in America, at every economic stratum and in a myriad of ways, receive privileged consideration simply because they are white. It offers the promise and the possibility that those who commit to engaging in this dialogue can develop higher degrees of awareness of privilege and its consequences. It is presented in the hope that such awareness, both in the individuals who participate in the curriculum and in the larger communities of which they are a part, will lead to more sophisticated and more impactful commitments to reducing the ongoing impact of white privilege as a means of distributing wealth and power.

Rabbis Against Gun Violence Resource Packet

On Wednesday, December 14th, 2106, the 4th Annual National Vigil for All Gun Violence Victims will be held in Washington, D.C. at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, launching local vigils and commemorations across the nation from December 14-18th. Congregations from coast to coast will participate – offering prayers, songs, and education. Faith communities will remember those who have lost their lives to gunfire, pray for those whose lives have been forever changed because of gun related injuries or the loss of a loved one, and educate one another on proven strategies to reduce gun violence. Your congregation, community, school or family can participate by incorporating songs, readings, poems, prayers, sermons and/or discussions in your service, at a community gathering or vigil, or around your family Shabbat table. This Resource Packet has ready-to-use materials, suggestions, and links to other sources that make it easy for you to find what you might want or need to make this happen.
