From "Creation Care" to "Watershed Discipleship"

This article - From "Creation Care" to "Watershed Discipleship" : Re-Placing Ecological Theology and Practice - was published in the Fall 2014 edition of the Conrad Grebel Review. In it, Ched Myers explores how our theology might be re-placed in light of the arrival of global ecological crisis. Instead of an abstract or unfocused theology of creation care, it suggests that the best way to orient the church’s work and witness is through bioregionally-grounded planning and action which focuses on the actual watersheds we inhabit.

God Is Green

NOTE: This resource is available for purchase from the Alliance bookstore on this site. This book aims to foster ecological conversation in churches and outlines the following practices for congregations: meditating on nature, inviting sermons on green topics, covenanting with the earth, and retrieving the natural elements of the sacraments. These practices help us recover ourselves as fleshly members of the earth and the network of life.
